~ Great video, cute kid too, I never knew about the hood opening tool till now, good to know. In the video, near the end you spoke about the back pressure when opening the gas cap. It seems like all of the old Chevy's I've had always had back pressure when opening the gas cap. The 74 Nova, the 72 and the 73 Monte Carlos always did that so I thought it was normal. Granted, the tanks were usually on empty, and it is hot in Florida. Please explain how this back pressure is a problem.
~ Thanks for showing the return line setup for the tank and the cleaning method you used and the crumbling felt piece you referred to.

I make no claims to have come up with this stuff on my own. All I did was put it on video. The vast majority of what I do would not exist without the wealth of information available on forums like this and from the amazing people on sites like this. The hood latch cable and tool were no different.

More than that, If you look through my videos, there is a part I have ordered made by someone on the forums in nearly every video. I make sure to let everyone know about these selfless individuals who spend their time to make these awesome parts. I try to do my part by bringing attention back to the forums by mentioning them in my videos. Thank you to all those that have posted their experience and the information on this forum. And those fo you who keep it alive for the rest of us.

I had someone comment on facebook to do some quality heat shrink around the parts that touch paint. Thoughts?

heatshrink sounds like a great idea. maybe even double coat of heatshrink.

Thanks. I did get a little defensive in the earlier post. However, I also wanted to give a big thanks to everyone on the forum for the decades of collective information that everyone has shared on here. I'm just happy to be a part of it in some small way.

If you dont have an extra shifter rod you can make the tool from 3/16" rod.
