rack and pinion help

i bought a conversion kit from overkill racing bolted in great tie rod set up was easy but the problem im having is it binds up when u turn the wheel iv got it kinda working now with the help of a welder cuz one of the joints popped off driving down the road and yes i did half to change my pants after that im just wondering if anyone has done this conversion and if u have pics or tips or something cuz honestly im scared to drive it now and i dont have the original parts anymore the gear box was craked so i got rid of everything

Are the two u-joint yokes in phase with each other? The yokes have to be oriented in phase with each other just like a driveshaft.
