the Gm manual talks about using tool j-23654 belt tension adapter tool and a torque wrench to apply 15 ft/lb of torque to water pump to tension timing belt. It also mentions using j-23600 strand tension gauge tool to measure tension on belt - 100-140 lbs. When I use the tensioning adapter and torque wrench and apply 15 ft/lbs of torque, I do not get anywhere neat 100- 140 lbs of tension on belt. any advice? should I just use tensioning tool and torque to specification and forget it?
