If you haven't...I would strongly suggest you drill a hole(s) up through the bottom of original link bar bracket into your No-hop brackets & bolt/nut them together. Even if the fitment is tight, the nature of the leverage around an "axle" (the original bolt) will allow for movement & in time, will oval out the hole in the original bracket as it rocks. Following me? My Two Cents, Lorne

I second this, I have original hop-stop bars and they have them. Some how they worked there way out and the car felt weird, so there will be movement you don't want.

If you built a bunch of those I'm sure you'd have no problem selling them.

They have bolts in there.. I saw I didn't get pictures of that,, :bang:

I have enough material to build about 6 more sets,, just waiting to see if they work well! they are made from the original plans that someone posted here.. but with thicker metal.(tig welded). the guy that built mine said he would do it for 100.00 per set? that would be with bolts and powder coated.. I wanted to make sure they work good before I give him the go ahead to build them. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!
Thanks!!

I like those No hop bars myself. Having a Manual in mine I may find I need em. Havnt driven enough to tell yet. My experience has always been Automatics never seem to hop though.

On another note, thought you might get a chuckle out of this Tinker.
I just tore down my rear end to swap gears and some Duh Head, (prev.owner) :bang: had put it together with a honed out, set up bearing and NO crush sleeve. Sound familiar? :D
You didn't put this one together years back did ya?
I'm sure glad I havnt done more than just small test drives when I decided that 4.10's had to go.
Prob the only piece I didn't take totally apart, just trusted it to be good, it looked fresh when I got car.

Darrell,, thankfully this was my first and hopefully my last one,, my friend and I had to use a pole about 8' long to get enough leverage
to get the proper crush on the sleeve, he didn't have enough of a impact wrench to get it tight enough,, we looked like to monkey's f4%king
a football.. I'm 6' 205 and he is 5' 8" 140.. we were sweating and grunting like old dogs... :x I blame him,, he has done several rear ends and should have known better!! This car is still fighting me on completion,, my plan is to get going early in the spring..then doing the power tour or drag week,,,
oh yea,, in 2015

Nothing like setting a deadline for a little pressure.
Keep after it.

tinker just saw the pic of bolt in bottom of stop hop. that is really a nice setup on those bars. i looked at all the pages of your build. didnt realize all the great mods and work you are doing. as i have said before, the guys on our site are the real fabricators of the hot rod world. nobody makes the goodies for our h-bodies, you guys make all the stuff, and it is better than all the store bought parts out there. what did you use on the gas tank to stop the squeaking . i saw the rank wrapped with some sort of material. care to let me know what you used. thanks art

Thanks Art,
The tank came with rubber tank straps that go on the recessed
Parts of the tank, they sent 2sets of them? I even thought of coating
The tank with lizard skin to help with sound. I have got most of my
ideas From the smart guys here on this site, there is a wealth of knowledge
On here!
