i have a 2004r in my 78 wagon you do need to make a new trans mount and a mount for the torque arm . i made the torque arm mount to the new trans mount .

FlyingBowtie,

Do you have a torque arm suspension? Or does your setup have upper and lower control arms? If you have the 4 control arm setup, you don't need a torque arm.

you have it right . you will have to shorten the torque arm to. the speedo cable will be to short you can use one from a 87 monte ss. if you want to use the stock monza shifter you will need the shifter arm and cable bracket from the monte also. you will have to modifiy the shifter too.

Either the 700R4 or the 200r4 will fit fine, I just finished my swap with a 700R4 complete with a shortened torque arm, shortened drive shaft without having to hammer the tunnel. The cooler lines fit, and I'm using a B&M megashifter. This looks like Larry's 'Hot Rod Jones" car?

I towed the POS to the scrap yard and sold it to them for $10.00 on the condition that I could watch them crush it! They agreed! So, it is now a cube of crushed steel! Good riddens!
