Funny you ask about any members being from Texas. What are you doing the first or second weekend in June?

I won't be there since I'll be driving the OPPOSITE way that weekend, but here's the link. June 7th, Temple Texas.

where in texas?

Postby spyderman1977 » Sat May 03, 2008 1:05 am

Just exactly where in Texas do you live? Things are looking up for me going to the Temple meet in June. I don't own any Vega's any more but I do have a small collection of the second gen. h-body's. I still don't have them all in one spot but hopefully soon.

BTW I am in the north east corner of Texas in Atlanta which is 20 miles south of Texarkana.

Good luck with the Vega.

Hey VegaChick,

If you dont mind me asking, where did you get your wheel tubs? I notice that all the ones from C/E or Jegs have ribs in them and I really like how those are smooth.
Id really like to do mine that way also...

What did you tie into as far as your front frame goes? I noticed all that square tube seems to stop up by the tranny crossmember.

Please and thank you

God bless

Look like it to me too, or "chopper" rear fenders.

How big are they? Now that you mention it, they do.

I wonder how wide you can get a trailer tire cover?

If you need them wider you could buy two sets and splice a pair together. These would work nice for a street car too because they can be generally thicker than wheel tubs designed for for drag cars.

Heavier yes , but better sound deadening.....like i said - street car.

I live in the Dallas area so you are not real far from me

The wheel tubes we got from tractor supply.. they are actually trailor wheel wells. The car is being built to drive more than to race so they are better than having aluminum tubes.

The subframes tie into the "frame" just infront of where the transmission crossmember bolts up.

Yes it is.
