Thanks waybad and ONEBAD :) Plan for the paint??? hmmm this is something I cant seem to keep a plan on  I think of something then it gets changed  Right now im thinking primer black with silver metalic over it. The darker primer will actually darked or spice up the silver a bit. Also maby some black or very light purple highlights somewhere. I have entertained ghost flames :th: Im worried how the black side panel gaskets might stand out, thats why im thinking silver and black. Hopefully this summer I wont have to worrie about that anymore :th: Keep at your projects guys, I love following them in the Journals :D

The ancient Firestone polyester 6.00 15L were dry cracked and one did not hold air anymore. I needed to be able to roll the car around again so the Jackstands had to go. Picked up the new BF Goodrich radial TA's in 155 80r 15" and got em on today. now I need new lugnuts for the big meats in the back.

I finally got around to finishing that custom steel rear valence. It will still need a litle more blocking and fill primer before its ready but here is what it looks like pretty much finished.
I got a little crooked with the camera

LIL Up date, started building my mounts the last couple of days. Tapped the old holes first.

made my frame pads and drilled the mounting holes

Test fit, both went on without a hitch :th: Ordered my block pads for a 68 Chrvy truck today and will pick up tomorrow. Then its off to building the tubes that attach it all together. This part will take more time as I have to set the Block in and level and square before building the rest.

Car looks great , you're doing a nice job on it. What size are your rear tires? I have a 1978 Sunbird that I'm starting on and I'm having a hard time picking rear tire size.

Thanks, tires are Mickey Thompson sportsman 31 X 16.5 X 15 on 12" centerline autodrags. I wish I had went with a 14" wide rim to get them to look a little wider and flatter.

Well after many years the engine is stuffed between the fender wells temporally. I squared every thing up and tacked the mounts together with temporary ties holding frame plates to tubes that bolt to the block mounts. I took them back out so I can build the center sections on the bench, and get good quality welds on them.

Keep chuggin' away at it!

At the moment no heater :( I have a furnace out there but am waiting till next year to hook it up to my outdoor wood furnace that will run HOT water through a heat exchanger in the ductwork. Its insulated fairly well and stays alot warmer than out side temps. As for the hood, its another work in progress, I bought an old harwood scoop at a swap meer that they dont make anymore, It was waaay to long for the hood so I cut out about 10" from the center, and grafted it back together. It was off a car that it had been bonded to the hood and I wanted a bolt on without spending big bucks on SOOOOO,,, I made a wooden frame that fits the contour of the hood and the inside of the scoop, bonded the two together and will fiberglass it all when it wars up and smooth. The hood will be cut out the inside diam of the scoop flange so I can have nice cool air intake and bolted to the hood with a gasket on the bottom of it, Here is where its at now but have a loooong way to go with it. I have $15.00 in it so far :th:
(Tinker, thanks Bud :th: )

On hood but still have to blend it to the wood flange
