Wes, you said you were "wrong one other time" a few times.
But yes, that's a short shaft TH400. 6 bolts on the tail shaft, kidney shaped pan, it's a TH400.
There were 2 different TH375's built, one was a beefed up TH350 and one was a, um, de-beefed TH400.

th400 all the way....its probably the strongest automatic transmission ever built....and Im not saying that just because IM a GM guy either....C6's and 727's are great trannies, but for bulletproof, buck-nutty power handling, there is no other option than a th400.
If prepped well enough theyll handle over 2000HP in a 3800lb car....

You should feel lucky...those short shaft TH400's are getting really hard to find.

God bless

What about the Allison automatic? But yes, in reallity the strongest automatic for performance use in a car would probably be the TH400. Some might say the Powerglide is stronger. The TH400 is definatly alot stronger than the TH350 but I've destroyed both. You can build a TH350, TH400 or Glide to handle the power you're going to throw at it.

Its a short tail also, 4 inches I believe...do you have two of these?

Very desirable.

DINK.... on the torque converter, I think the brand name you were sold was Boss Hogg.
Near where I live, a local speed shop sells them as their budget line of street/strip converters.

I hear they work pretty good for the money. You can find the brand on the web and ebay.

Well i finally pulled the cover off and got a few things STARTED  today but not finished  First thing was pulling the Homemade aluminum fuel cell back out and doing some mods to the sump area. The sump went all the way across from side to side and i just didnt like the look. I cut the ends off at a taper and made some templates from cardboard. just have to cut the new peices, take it to work and tig the new ends on. Ill take pics when i finish it.

I was in the process of making a steel lower valance a while back out of 18 guage, but never finished it. I rolled it at work on a metal rolling machine. I started on it again today and should have it done soon. I still have to trim back the enter sections in the middle and fab and weld a new center piece for the licenese plate area. t will be one piece when its done and way more durable than the old plastic ones. My wagon is a 74 so i dont think i could get the plastic 71-73 type to fit anyway. The bumper is off a 71 hatch back. I had to make my own bumper brackets and They are slotted so i can adjust the bumper up and down for fitment.

Back at it again today :) I worked on the one off custom steel lower valance some more, and have just a little more welding to do before smoothing the inside and out side corners with filler, sanding it ,and shooting some primer. Started with some cardboard teplates and transfer3ed to steel 18 ga.

another angle. there will be a chrome plastic strip that slips on the upper edge between the bumper and the top of the valance after paint work to fill the gap. I didnt want paint rubbing on bumper.

you could make a nice amount of mod money building and selling those , and for the hatch and trunk models having reverse lights in the bottom like the 67-69 RS camaros , would be sweet

Thanks Roco, where you at in Ill?? Im 35 miles from Mt Carmel Ill on the Indiana side.
Thanks 72ss, I have actually been thinking of puting some kinda lights in the roll pan, maby shaped like a chevy logo!! Thoughts ?? Well I tiged up the new ends on the fuel cell today, i know i know the welds dont look professional :P But im a little rusty on Aluminum welding :D
I have the welding done on the Lower valance and have started body work on it. It will/should be done by next week and in full primer. Ill take pics when complete. I was making the excuse that i couldnt work on the car without spending cash, but in reality i convinced myself that there are TONS of things i can still do when the cash aint flowin
