Please any serious opinion will help

I am looking into swapping a Vortec w 4 speed auto into my 1976 Monza 262, it comes from a truck, does it have to be a 2 wheel drive, or is 4 wheel drive the same, what is the number on the autokraft oilpan that I will need and do I need dipsstick and what else?

The reason is that Vortec is a lot cheaper than LS1 and I can live with 25 - 50 HP less

How hard is that, I have build a fiberglass car of my own design and changed 5 - 7 engines - stock ones and rebuild a 1981 Yamaha XV1000 belt drive special from scratch and lot of other stuff.

I wrote the following for myself as a means of grouping together information for a future ls swap into a 75 monza 2+2 - may or may not be of use to you.

If your 4wd tranny is a 4l60e then converting it to 2wd requires complete disassembly to replace the output shaft in addition to a 2wd tailshaft housing or an adapter to use a 700r4 tailhousing if you need a mechanical speedometer output.

I have not had any progress to report on, between work and the cold weather nothing has happened at all. As soon as it warms up a little more I am going to work on it as much as possible.
The brake MC is for a 1983 to 1987 Chrysler New Yorker, Napa #39451 it has a 21mm (13/16") bore. Hopefully it will work good with the LS-1 F-body front calipers and 2000 S-10 rear disk setup.
The clutch MC is a Tilton #75-750u 3/4" bore. After I ordered it, I found out that a 7/8" bore may have been better. But I will use the one I have and see how it works out.

This is my old car. I was the second owner and I was the one who painted it red.
