Project "Footloose" THE RESURRECTION

Postby ONEBADMK8 » Wed Mar 10, 2010 12:34 am

Well most of you will remember my recent find and all the drama attached, well this will be the official progress thread of this unusual and very unique little Vega GT.

Heres the links:

Tonight I started on the rear wheels, just hit them with one pass of the Powerball after a light sanding. Ill do this 3 or 4 times until they gleam.

I also hit the inner fenderwell on the passenger side, roughed it up real nice, primered then satin black. I know you will never see it but I cannot put gleaming tin over crappy inner fenderwells, ya know? lol

Also started on the chrome front end parts. For being done 28 years ago they came up great. Check it out.

Very cool! The chrome steering gear looks good. I notice the lower A-arm is painted and striped too. It is awesome that you are bringing it back to life, and keeping it the way it was done back then. :th:

Thanks man. Yeah I know the Guy is a scumbag loser too. Makes me sick to think he is keeping it because he says he is going to use it on his Camaro and the Guy doesn't know how to set the timing in a car let alone set up a mechanical FI. I hate him man I really do lol.

Finally had some nice weather. I got the car compounded and waxed ALL day on that and the front rims!! Both came out like glass. In these shot you can really see the top to bottom fade starting with candyapple red to candy tangerine. Badass paint job even 30 years later. Check it out.

that sticker on your toolbox cracked me up."This looks like a good place to..."
where the HELL did you get that?
Also I should probably mention that you have one sweet car on your hands. VERY cool. I race vintage stock cars and have a real soft spot for nostalgia.
