Updates, well some updates! Pretty much got the chassy built, hopefully within the next week or two will be moving on to all the tin work. After that, the new roll cage, just need to figure out how I want to run the frame connectors.

I've been up to, or through, Ocala twice in the last 2 weeks, stepdaughter's graduation week before last, and my mom's 72nd birthday in Palatka this past weekend, maybe next time I'll give ya a shout and stop by for a peek at that monster in person, 8)

That would be cool, when I get it done I'd like to load it up and take it to Old Town. Haven't been there in awhile. Couple of my friends were there the other weekend , said they had a lot of nice cars there. Actually I have the car at the house, I figured I'd have more time to work on it here then at work. I'm actually building it in my carport :D . Just let me know next time you'll be this way. I'll give you my number and address.

What's holding the rear of the body to the frame? Or vice versa? :?: :? All I see is one tab in the center, below the hatch latch, :?
I foresee problems if that's the only mounting between the body and frame back there. I welded in a 2x3 crossmember to the body across the back of mine, and that's what my frame rails will attach to. Pics in a few, when I get home..... 8)

The gaps you see in the 2nd pic are being filled by sections of 1/2"x1/2"x1/8" angle and welded to both the rear roll panel and the crossmember, you can see some of that in the first pic, 8)

The tab is just there to center the body over the frame :D . I will be rebuilding a whole new lower tail panel that my rear frame section will attatch to. The interior of my car will be done in 18 and 20 gage sheet metal. instead of aluminum. As I'm building more of a pro street car then a race car, not worried about the weight. The tail light panel is only held in by self tappers right now, I knew i was gonna replace the bottom half of the tail panel when I was going to redo the back half. It will be made out of 11 gage metal so this way i can make all my mounting brackets for the bumper , I see why you used the 2x3 tubing with your rollcage being mounted to the back panel. Mine will be mounted to the frame rails. I will have 3 mounting points from the frame to the tail pan when its finished.

Yes, I planned it that way from the beginning, that's why the cage bars were done on a 24" center, 8)
