Thank you. A friend of mine has an original Hooker, Vega plate I copied.
I'm starting to get really anxious to bolt all the 1970's parts I've collected on the car.

I had Griffin build me a radiator. Measurements are 27 x 13 x 2 3/4. I'm cutting the core support in order to mount the rad. under the center.
I started by cutting out the opening for the entire unit. Then I cut out the center of the core support and welded on two tabs to each side of the piece I cut out. This will do two things. It will allow me to remove the rad. without taking the nose of the car apart and it will also let the big block go in a little easier when I start final assembly.
Next I fabbed the bottom channel for the rad. to set in. I was going to weld it in, but decided to make it removable. After getting the rad. set into the car I trimmed the top core support piece to form to the top of the rad. Next I fabbed the top channel. That piece was then welded to the removable core support piece.
I hope this description makes sense, but if not, maybe the pictures will.

Just finished boxing in the lower corners of the core support. All I have left is installing the Rivnuts so I can bolt on the lower channel support and it is done.

Nice job :th: . To remove the radiator do you unbolt the bottom core support and slide it toward the engine and let the radiator drop down to clear upper support ?

Yes. The flange is on the engine side. Remove the bolts and loosen the upper mount bolts and you have enough slack to pull the bottom out and down. I did it this way so I wouldn't have to pull the upper body panel for removal.

Thats ok, I have 3 of my own. They can keep you pretty busy. Maybe I can get to meet you next time! I'm trying to get mine ready for the turkey rod run. Pretty big turn out they have out there on a1a. They had over 3000 cars out there last year.

I scored a major, vintage part for the car last night. It's a Delco airshock control for the car. It consist of a vacuum controlled pump and a control unit that bolts under the dash.

Your doing such an excellent job. Top notch fabrication. This car is going to look soooo good, I'm already having to wipe the drool off of my chin. I really like the motion cars. Congrats on scoring the air shock controller. Those have to be getting pretty rare by now.
If it don't scare me, I don't want it.
