1973 Vega GT in Idaho

Postby CH3 NO2 » Mon Feb 28, 2011 6:40 pm

I am actually new here and this is my first Vega. I have done Camaro's and Nova's in the past. I picked up a 1973 Vega GT off craigslist that is mostly stock and I would like to keep it as a economical car. It needed a clutch so I'm putting that in and I found a T50 that is going at the same time. Eventually I would like to swap in a Quad-4 HO to keep the car kind of original looking get good mileage and decent performance. Well take a look and tell me what you think.

Looks like a rad ride! Great starting point for a killer street rod...I love the 71-73 fronts the best! :th:
Keep the pics coming and keep us posted on your progress, there are a ton of guys who know more about these cars then anyone so don't hesitate to ask any questions.
Drive, break, repair...repeat!

That looks like a great start. My brother had a 73 GT in high school, I always thought it should have a V8. I live in Nampa Idaho, where are you? My son and I are redoing a 71 V8 Vega.Welcome to the site. Dave.

Great starting point, that quad-4 sounds like a great idea. Go for it.

Welcome to the site.
Nice online find.

I like your idea of putting a quad four in it instead of a small block Chevy V-8. Dare to be different. 8)
You would be a pioneer as I don't think anyone has done that swap, yet. Shouldn't be difficult - so go for it.

I have found an engine doner car for my Quad 4. It wasn't the high output I was hoping to find but the price was right and it should work well. It will remain fuel injected.
