thought I'd say, It's the one that was in wichita. You guys saw it before I did. I never saw it on craigslist, I caught it on the mokan dragway site, awhile later. As far as what wheel to put on it, I was thinking of maybe something like this.

I dont know how attached you are to that steering wheel but if you clean it up it will fetch big dollars on ebay for a motion clone car.

I remember seeing those nighthawks, if you can get decals made and make a nice restomod/hotrod with similar to stock colors/layout youll have a super neat car there.

It had a cheap aftermarket steering wheel in it when I got the car. I wish it had the original wheel. They didn't even do it right, it was almost upside down.

Nice wheel selection, they should look great. Love the gold wheels on a black car.

I just found pics I had of that car your working on, I have a dozen or more actually. I had considered it a while back but could hardly justify the expence of it, plus bringing it back across the border. Glad to see someone saved it.

Just a little update. I've been looking into replicating the vinyl. Talked to the local sign shop today, no luck. I talked to a buddy that has a body shop, and he said his mustang has a similar treatment. He gave me a phone number for a guy that supplies bulk rolls of vinyl, no luck yet. I talked to the upholstery shop about recovering my dash, no luck. I asked her about re-covering my seats, can't get that pattern for the center, and I'll have to get a different driver's seat because she can't fix the wire framing or repair the foam. NO LUCK. She can recover my door panels.(won't look factory) As far as the headliner, if I can find one in good shape, she can recover it. ????? :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :censored:

I spent the rest of the day looking for a parts car to rob the interior from, no luck, but I have a couple more places to look yet.

There's a place online that offers seat covers for every make and model, they say they have the original patters that they creat each seat cover from. I asked about the Starfire style seats in my Sunbird and they said, yes, the covers will have the same pattern if I want. Sorry but I lost the link and cant remember the place..

I like those gold wheels. But, the blacked-out Pontiac Ralley II wheels look right for your Nighthawk.
In case Marcos memory doesn't return to him anytime soon ( :D ), check the Supplier Section here on h-body - viewtopic.php?f=42&t=26119 . SMS should be able to supply you with exact, original upholstery materials.

I think JustDashes can fix that dash pad for $$$. You may be able to find a good used one, though.

For the seat foam, since the seat covers from a camaro fit, one would think that the foam from the same camaro should be the same for the front seats.

I know I am using the plastic backs from a camaro on my seats and they are virtually the same as the Monza originals.

I did a little more work on the car today. Popped the hood, and started checking out the engine. If the engine is ok, I'll just use it for now. I looked around the engine bay, and the only thing I saw missing, besides some of the wiring, was the alternator. The person who removed it, was kind enough, to just cut the pigtails for the alternator, instead of unhooking them. I dug through the garage and found an alternator that was clocked correctly for the car. Then, after a trip to the parts store, I replaced the missing pigtails, and installed the alternator, with a new belt.

I think tomorrow, I'll start going through the rest of the wiring, and repair or replace the bad sections. I might even borrow a power washer and degrease the engine as well.(it's nasty dirty, going to have to use chemical warfare)

I didn't get to any of the wiring today, but I did manage to declare chemical warfare on the engine and engine bay. I didn't get the power washer yet, so I just used my garden hose, but it still came out pretty clean considering.

These are the chemicals I used

And this is the result with the garden hose

I'm still going to get the power washer and give it a better blasting, there's still a lot of dirt and grease, but it is a lot better than it was. Got the first layer off anyways.
