My 1976 Vega Pro Street

Postby ipspots » Mon Apr 23, 2012 4:33 pm

I paid $7,000 for this car almost 2 yrs ago. It came with the Motor and Trans (BBC/Turbo 350, 9" rear etc) but it needed so much attention. Paint was nice. I have been upgrading everything I changed the radiator, added 2 elec fans and shrouds, cut more grill openings in the glass frnt end, rewired the whole car as it was wired without relays, needed a turnsignal swith, had no horn, etc... Made the headlights adjustable (don't ask) Changed the intake and carb, added 3" exhaust, changed to a QTR stick, cleaned up and the roll cage, added, Added gauges, Added s10 spindles and brakes, new brake master, am in the process of adding carpet and aluminum door panels. So much work already done, so much more to do.

Check it out, (I'll try and add pics below) all together with selling the tunnel ram and carbs etc, I have been able to keep the cost down. I have less than $10,000 in it. (but alot of my own time)

Thanks- overall I think I got a good deal, but it was far from streetable when I first bought it.

Below are some vids. When I first got it, it had a tunnel ram setup on it and no exhaust.
The first vid is right after I bought it. The second was not long after (doing a little tire frying), the next one was late last year after returning home form a show. and the last is of my 25 year GTO project.

Yeah you know I had heard a lot of flak about the predator carbs, then I really started researching them and got some great tuning tips etc... just like anything else, if you dont know what your doing, it's not gonna run right ... I like them. Very quick throttle response.

Installed the Aluminum Door panels, the rear aluminum panels are not cut yet.

I have a piece of engine turned aluminum I will be using as the gauge panel, and will repaint the fiberglass dash at that time
