thought i'd share a pic of my other Buick i just put on the road ..

its a 1980 Buick Riviera, 40k original kms with a Olds 350 and front-wheel drive - totally loaded, electric everything including moon roof. got it for $800 and immediately replaced all the rubber lines and belts and pumps under the hood including all the vacuum lines so now it runs quiet and quick ! new shocks and brakes and brake lines etc help it to stop.

Very nice detail work on the suspension/steering pieces. This is the type of work that separates a typical rebuild into something special. :th:

ya Clyde thanks, I'm not just putting it back on the road - i'm building it so it will last for the next 20 years or so.. fortunately the climate is mild here on Vancouver Island so i can actually drive it year round without dealing with snow and ice. the hard part will be actually keeping it on the road, by that i mean it will be very quick with the turbo Grand National motor in it and its pretty light so .. wish me luck! LoL

cheers, Todd

So, significant progress on my 'Hawk recently .. new carpet is in and the interior panels are painted and going back in soon. Rear diff and axle has all new parts in it, is painted and rehung as is the front axle. We were prepping to repaint the engine and found filings all thru it from grinding nearby it and have torn it down again ..

more soon, plus pix.

Hi Todd, Nice to hear an update and nice to see someone is making progress. From the pics she is looking real good, I guess you are going to have to cut a hole in the hood for clearance on that turbo? I see you have the metal rear window louvers, I have a set of those for mine too, I like them. Mine is no further along other than lightening my pocket book by another few hundred dollars in parts. On the upside I'm running out of things to buy for it until I start working on it and take a full inventory of whats there and what I might be missing or what I thought was OK, only to find out after sitting for 15 years (10 of that outdoors) that it was good and now needs replacing. At least they are both inside now and I have stopped the degradation. Sadly it's looking like a next spring start date at this point. Gotta get my sons Subaru back together and out of my shop and finish the paint work on my Square body and then with any luck at all I might be able to start the Monza project.
