Yeah, I'll measure it tomorrow or Sunday and post it here. My car is 40 miles away, but I plan on doing some work on it this weekend.

I measured my dash from the exposed metal panel on the passenger side to the end of the dash by the passenger door. I got 18" at the bottom, aprox 18 3/4" at the center line. Hope that helps you.

Im afraid the plastic mounting holes will break, some are already craked. Im making a metal piece to go underneath, but its on hold at the moment as I don't have any nuts small enough for the bolts. Im going to weld the bolts to the metal piece as it has to mount pretty flat.

v8_motor_mount_nos_left.jpg

Stuff happens and plans change. Im just about ready to start work on the car again. I got some v8 Monza mounts today. In order to put them in the vega ive gathered that I have to remove the 1/4" plate and drill a hole. Where does the plates I pictured above come into play, and are they necessary? P.S. why does every time I click on something the screen goes black and only goes away when I click again?

Hi,
The two holes at the top are for the motor mount to line up to. you likely have to remove any existing shims in the 4 cylinder mount locations on the body and bolt these on for locating the holes for drilling and tapping .

You can see the motor mount sitting on one of these plates in this pic.

Trans mounted. Is the 1 inch steel tubing going to be strong enough or should I make something else that's stronger?

I found a 76 wiring harness that hooks up nicely to my 75 dash. Its provin a bitch to fix. Ends are cut, nothing marked, wires chewed. Cant beat free though.
