Started working on the 8.8" rear. Made the spring mounts. Does anyone have a picture of a torque arm mount for an H-body?

The torque arm mount is cast as part of the differential housing. This thread has a couple pictures about half way down, viewtopic.php?f=10&t=37700

I have had 4 stock type rears. What I am looking for is an 8.8" that has been set up with a tubular torque arm. The few I've looked at were set up for the stock type sheet metal arm. With how tight the driveshaft tunnel is, I was hoping someone here may have solved this installation challenge.

If it is a mustang rear with the threaded lugs in the cast in webbing I would look at adapting a Maximum Motorsports or Griggs Racing torque arm.

I am using an Explorer rear. A variation of the pics in the link you provided is probably the way we'll go. Thank you!

What trans did you make that mount for? You could probably sell a few if you also included a torque arm mount.Great work!!

a similar torque arm is described in the mustang handbook.

note that the torque arm is centered beneath the car but the pinion is offset in the chassis. Torque arm is not centered under pinion.

T400. I plan to built the torque arm mount after the rear is done. The raised portion between the trans mount and the pan is where the mount will go. Major time setback due to work (cold weather). With the recent ideas on the torque arm (from the links provided in the thread - Thanks Monzaaddict), I am glad I did not go with the first idea. Should get to the garage later today.

That is similar to what we will do. It will be centered in the car. I plan to use two turnbuckles instead of hard mounting it to the rear. That way we can adjust the pinion angle for different applications. The goals include Drag, Auto-X and Land Speed. I will have to build an intricate offset at the front near the front shackle to clear the exhaust, but not get too low to the ground.
