Hi, I have been watching the projects on here for several years and learned many useful things about modifying H body's. I decided it was time to show my projects progress. These pics are from 2012/2013 and show some of the things my son and built and fitted up to that point. Also you may have noticed my "shop" is somewhat outdoorsy so we only work on the car in the warmer months.

Like the custom fabricated frame rail curvy bits over the axle - nice work. :th:

Thanks! I needed rear axle clearance for the 4-link brackets. And I don't really like the square/straight frame rail look.

So spring is here again in central Alberta and since I have been of work for almost a month due to the fires in Fort McMurray I have managed to get some more work done on my vega. I have found this to be a fairly effective way to keep my brain from stewing over my current job situation. My employer has been awesome and paid us for two paydays but today I received notice [and all my crew] that we have been temporarily laid off. All in all I cant complain, my job will be there when they lift the evacuation order and things return to normal. And unlike many unfortunate souls my home and tools didn't burn. I sure hope those who did lose homes and businesses make out ok, its a really crappy situation for them.

Cool car, I hear they've got a plan in place to start letting people go back to Ft Mac next week so hopefully that means you can get back to work soon!

Thanks Waybad, if you or anyone else has any helpful suggestions or comments I greatly appreciate them! This weekend my son came out from the city and was a major help in getting the engine mocked up in the car so we could see what does and does not fit [yet lol]. To make a long story short the engine fits [mostly] but the headers interfere with the crossmember under the engine and will have to be replaced. I tried trimming a corner off of it on the drivers side and just managed to get that side bolted up. I'm not sure if this is being caused by the heads which have raised exhaust ports or if that's just the way these headers fit. The passenger side is a definite no go with the crossmember on the car as it misses the bolt holes in the head by about 3 inches! :bang: When I can get back into Fort McMurray I can pick up my tube bender and build a new crossmember which hopefully will sort these problems out. We also tried the radiator and I think that it will be able to be mounted behind the rad bulkhead in a mostly normal location as long as the lower part of the bulkhead is cut out and I install a lower tubular crossmember. I am posting some pictures of our adventure today. :D
