Just one more question
Where to find or what the alternative for hood lining/insulation. I don't have it at all. Hood was repaired after accident so no good looking inside. Need to cover it

Just returned from car show. It was more than 1000 cars there. Buick attracted a lot of attention and finally came into the top and was nominated as Star of the Show in retro category. I got Star award and certificate.

I saw your earlier post about hood insulation. Here is a related thread from a couple years ago. Clyde might still be able to get this material for you, or possibly some of the alternatives in here might work:

Yes it was not easy job but now it looks like close to its end.
First 200 miles to car show and back was very useful in understanding of what need to be done more. The only problem pop up is that on speed 100-120 km/hour engine is over rotating in my point of view. On 100 km/h - 3500 - 4000 rpm, on 120 km/h - 4000 - 4500 rpm. I don't think it is normal. Will try to find out.

you did a great job.

i restored a 1977 monza coupe

it took 5 years in USA and was very difficult to find all parts needed.

i cant imagine how hard it is in russia to restore an H Body car !

Keeping in mind it is the only one Buick Skyhawk H-body in Russia process of its restoring was 2.5 years of one big adventure

Recently had professional photo shooting and in couple of weeks it will be report about it on youtube (but in Russian). This week end going to another car show. So now harvesting the results of my efforts))

Decided to make some improvements with side passenger mirror i.e. make passenger mirror remote as well
Manual passenger mirror is not so convenient to me

Bought pair of remote mirrors same as my Skyhawk ones from 1986 Oldsmobile cutlass supreme 442 on e-bay with passenger remote mirror











And Chevy Monza remote mirror bezel clip bracket from drivers door



Received all stuff last week. Matched mirrors compared to mine. They are the same

So what I am going to do
1. Paint passenger mirror to my color
2. Change remote cable from passenger mirror to driver's one. Passenger mirror cable is much longer I guess it designed for joystick to be installed on drivers door (which for me two joysticks on one door will not look so good)
3. Flip over mirror bezel clip bracket down side up and it will become passenger one
4. Install mirror and joystick mirror bezel clip bracket same level and place as on drivers door
5. Will have two remote mirrors with same style and shape identical remotes

Before I make it share your visions or it is stupid idea?

Alex I have wanted to do this for a long time but I kept trying with all H-Body parts and my "undoing" has been trying to get the cables undone from the joy stick, always ended in some sort of breakage. The passenger remote typically on the large cars they came on were center(ish) on the dash or in the passenger door [more of the mid-sized cars]. Harry

Here I am after pretty long silence.
Thing are moving
1. During winter time did my wheels. Sandblasted and repainted them. Put D slots))
2. Bought and receive brand new carpet. Not yet installed

3. My pull handles were in quite poor condition. By surfing web found out they are the same as on 2nd gen firebird. Bought them and already install. They are a bit more brighter color but condition is much better than were before
