Ditch that Fram filter, worst on the planet, upgrade to the other upper priced Frams or another brand.

I used Crane " Koolnuts" and their hardened pushrods on my 80 Duke , don't know if they are still available.

Nice build, brings back alot of memories... :th:

I seen the video on FB the other day comparing oil filters. Yep Fram is junk for sure. This is the last one I ever bought. After engine break in, it will get something else. Anything else.

Thanks Doug! :D

I like Wix filters. They always seemed to get good reviews.

Well, thanks Chris for the link, I was going to search for it but you save me the time. I have like 2 or 3 Fram filters for various vehicles sitting on the shelf and once those are gone I won't be buying any more either. One of my local Auto parts stores used to have the WIX line but the store closed, so I guess I will go to NAPA or do some searching to find out who's selling WIX these days in my area. Failing that I could always buy online.

Orielly's auto parts sell Wix, or online as you mentioned.
Just watched the video, as I suspected the Wix is a proven design of high quality. That is certainly my choice for oil filters (Napa Gold seems to be the same).

Two Thumbs Up :th: :th:

That is a better looking engine compartment than most new cars. Sweet!

BTW, Guys, wasn't it FRAM that had the commercial. "Pay me now or Pay me later" ? It went something like that I think? What a crock.

Haven't done a lot in the last couple months but I did get the engine running and made a new headliner. Test drive shortly

Update

I put about 400 kms on the car when the cam gear walked on the camshaft because I didn't install it right. :censored: Pulled engine and replaced the gear and I'm back on the road again. The cam timing gear has to be heated in hot oil then quickly pressed on. Sixteen thousandths interference fit with an aluminum gear on the cast camshaft.

The high heat spray paint I used on the exhaust manifold mostly burnt off. :cuss:
