I considered a DZ302 for a swap for a while myself as I plan to daily my h-body and the fact that it’s a high revving engine that makes most of its power at the top end works well with an overpowered light street car (decided to keep the Duke for now at least). Repairs on the fenders look great! I wish mine would go that well but Sunbirds have a lot of curves in the rust zone and it’s difficult to find replacements. Wish you the best of luck on continuing your build!
Thanks for the support! Yeah I wanted something a little different than the norm, thought about the Vortec V6, the Buick 3800, a Olds 267, 350 even a Chevy 292, but after finding a article saying the prototype had a 302, I said to myself let me make what was really intended and badge it accordingly. I still have a list of things to do, want the nose and rear swap to the 71-73 style like my dad’s old knock around when I was a kid, I remember standing in the passenger seat back in 80 and 81 I would tell him to “jump” the railroad crossing LOL, probably at the blazing speed of 15 mph at that age we were traveling at the speed of sound to me and I dubbed his 72 the Stunt Jumper the Copper brown with the slotted mags two of them pictured above, He retired his 67 442 due to me being born, so I decided to create something of fun times with him.
I know he’s smiling down at the car and shaking his head
