HI guys, Well while looking under the dash I didn't find anything but by the brake booster I found a rats nest bundled up. It wont let me attatch a pic of them , so someone can tell me what they are.I know one is for the reverse lights it has a plug on the end.The others are a green wire w/white stripe that has the end cut off i think that's an 18 guage the next is orage with the end cut off and that is 14 guage. Next is a brown with a plug on the end and 18 guage.Next is green wire with a plug on the end and 14 guage.Next is a black w/white strip with a plug on the end.Next is the tan &blue wire which I believe is for the reverse lights and that has a plug on the end 1 straight and 1 sideways which are 14 guage. Thanks for all the help I don't know why someone would leave these cut and bundled.

Without a picture we can only guess as to the exact use for all the wires; 18g green/white- temp sender, 14g orange- blower motor, 18g brown- tach, 14g green could be idle stop solenoid( or horn). The only black/white wire I can find under the hood should be for the wipers. If these are all loose under the hood it begs a question- was this thing a race car? If none of these wires were hooked up a LOT of things weren't working.

That should be your turn signal flasher you can see it on the schematic the plug is shown just like you are describing and the dark purple may look blue.

Hard to tell on the rest hopefully these drawings will help some. I know the parking brake is one wire but it is 18ga tan double black stripe.

Look at these drawings and see if they help. I sure hope the connector under the W/S wiper switch in the dash is still there. That is where your back up light wire is.

If your car was a manual trans originally the back up light wires look like they came into the engine compartment, over the wiper motor and then down to the trans. It is the square #6 in the drawing. Good luck! Brian

You need to resize the pics. Someone I am sure can explain how to do that better than me. I know how to do it with my camera (Fuji Fine Pix viewer) but I am sure there are other ways.

The connector on the blue & tan pair is the Manual trans reverse light connector, the second one from the left(black white?) I don't know, the brown wire has tach connector, the green has water temp sender terminal, the orange most likely is the blower fan, and the green white I would say is idle stop. all of them pretty well what I guessed in my last post.

Thanks guys for your help. The blue/tan wire was for the reverse lights.I hooked them up to my new shifter and low and behold they worked, just needed to replace 1 bulb. Now I have the neutral safty switch which was the purple/purple white wire which is hooked up too. That works also.Next is the darn wiper switch and I'll post them later. Thanks again Dan
