72 Vega GT with factory a/c - idle issue

Postby corvairdog » Tue Sep 23, 2014 4:24 pm

Previous owner set idle at 1500. Kicks down to like 1200 or so when a/c comes on. I think there should be an a/c idle control switch that regulates the idle so I can set it lower and not have the car stall when the a/c is turned on. Does anyone know the location and part number of that idle control (switch?)?

Thanks!

If memory serves me correctly it shoud be mounted on the carb. its a typical idle stop solinoid. it would have had a wire that was tied to the compressor control line that goes to 12volts when the AC is switched on. It simply pushes the throttle open a little to stop the stalling.
