Add coolant light constantly on - 76 Vega

Postby GMCris » Thu Jul 09, 2015 5:08 pm

Hi,
The "add coolant" light on my 76 Vega is constanly on. I know the radiator is not leaking and there is enough coolant. Seems to me it is a eletrical problem.
I tried to take the wire from the module to the sensor and used a jumper wire and "grounded" it. But still the light is on. The wiring from the sensor to the module looks good.
Maybe I should replace the coolant module in the dashboard?
Is there anyone else who have had this problem earlier?
Please excuse my bad English writing.

Thanks!

On my Monza, there is a wire for this that goes to the passenger side of the radiator. Probably the senor your talking about. When my light stays on it usually means its corroded or dirty and I have to take it apart and clean it. For me, this gets the light to turn off. Have you tried doing that?
