The Knuter Control Valve

Postby RONS PROVEGA » Fri Oct 15, 2010 6:20 pm

Hey....I'm just curious, how often does the knuter control valve need to be adjusted on a '72 Vega GT?....Does it ever get out of adjustment?....The reason I ask is because I have the left knuter knob broke loose but the right knuter knob is stuck in the open position!....How do I go about freeing this knob without having a shit fit?....It is surely driving me crazy!

It's best just to remove it and tuck it away where nobody can find it. It's completely unnecessary and generally causes more problems than what it is worth. Unless you are a factory purist just get rid of it.

That's what I was thinking!....It sticks out like a sore thumb and everytime I think of it I get a headache!....By the by, Clyde, can you even locate these knuter valves in NOS anymore?

You can tuck it down by the freewheeling anti-glide arm which is connected to the lower synthetic anti-dismemberment modulation valve. No one will ever know.

What about the Disgronificator?
When does it need to be replaced, and how much will it cost?

don't forget to hide the galloping rods, they'll look horribly out of place without the knuter valve. Well, at least paint them to match the rest of the car......

No, that is a Chrysler product and they guard what they put it in very carefully. :)
