I've recently talked to Jack and he is still on the hunt for us.

On the GM Dealer-sold IMSA Monza I have to wonder after looking at a GM parts book if there was an option for it from the factory. The wording seems like it was possible but how can you tell just from this?

These are the same part numbers in the articles on the first page of this post. Althought the hood scoop and Vega front air dam are additional. Adding up the prices (including the hood scoop) for the Monza your cost is $1,871.75

I didn't realize the Vega had a factory front air dam offering. Brian

If sparkknock catches this thread he should still have some IMSA panels I once owned. I believe some of the pieces still have part numbers written on the inside. I never checked to see if they were GM numbers.

It's been a while since I've been through this thread so this may have been mentioned..

How about "Bodies in white" ... this is the term I've heard thrown around for buying just body shells off the line for use as race cars. I'm pretty sure you could get an H body this way.. It wouldn't have the imsa flares, but they could have been shipped with the car and built at a dealership for sure..

Add in 'Built' and the phrase "GM Dealer built and sold IMSA Monza" seems allot more likely, yet maybe a little less exciting..

I have a GM Performance parts catalog from the early 80's that I got with my red spyder.. It has some details and part numbers of the stuff available from GM, should I scan it?

Dick you wouldn't of charged him more if they were GM parts? :)

Marco I'm clueless but I want to know what it is. Monza/Vega with an "Off Road Option" in a factory parts book. It is easy to read way more into it but even a BIW, dealer built, kit or whatever it would be nice to know.

Maybe a 75 Product Description Manual would help.

Marco scan away I would like to see it. Brian

Bodies in white were the shells that didn't pass inspection after assembly by fisher. They wouldn't have a vin assigned to them.

The body panels may have needed a factory part number to meet the rules of the sanctioning body.

Brian, Anything new from Jack lately?

I'm kind of hoping he is able to find the drawings of the Oldsmobile Starfire proposals that went along with the Hurst Buick ones.

After seeing John Mahoney's Mirage I sent Jack an email with John's pictures. He mentioned Jack Jurovatic writing him with a Xerox copy of an add in NY for a Mirage. Odds are it is the same add John put out. Jack P. said he has found some other items to send so as soon as they show up I'll post them here. He didn't say exactly what but has mentioned in the past other pic's of the Rapide. Like last time I'll get good scans so anybody interested can have copies.

Jack P. wanted links to these posts again and he mentioned that he was going to pass them along to Jack J. I sent an email with several links and expect to hear back soon.

Here's a quick piece on Jack J. Maybe you can pass this along to Jack P. At the bottom someone is trying to get in touch with 'J'.

Thanks Dick I sent it to JP. Did you see JJ's address and phone number at the bottom? Maybe added after the person asked. Brian

I just sent the info to the email of the inquirer, I didn't see it when I first read it.

Thanks,

These pictures are from GM Heritage. Some nice pictures, I'm sure the Mirage with the 00.00.00 plate is the one GMH fleet referenced for Doyle's Mirage resto.

Nice pictures. At least this one has decent tires on it. Doyle's ended up having 165/80's on it, looked like it could tip over. This car's rear fenders are not the normal stock ones either nor is the fit of the rear spoiler.

Seems like the Mirage panels on the 00 car don't have the edge around them like the bottom car. I did just notice no gas cap for the 00 car. Are you saying the Mirage panels for the rear or the actual sheet metal?

Does this help show what you mean?
