The large red wire should be hot at all times and is usually clipped to the firewall; it's used to feed some optional equipment such as an underhood light. The tan wire is the "low brake fluid" wire that plugs onto the proportioning valve.
As to your "no start" issue, the starter wire is interrupted by either a neutral safety switch(automatic trans) or a clutch pedal switch(manual). Two pin connector with large purple and purple/white wires.
Wipers? They "park" so the fuse is ok, but the switch provides ground to do the different speeds; you may have a black ground wire not screwed in somewhere under the dash.
Way back to "wires1", the brown(probably tan) looks like it's long enough to go under the carpet to the parking brake lever, and the white/black pair along with it to the driver's seat belt buckle.
The fuse you blew when the pink/white touched ground could be labeled "turn", "signal" or "back up" I just don't remember it's exact placement in the box.
