I've had a half dozen coupes over the years, and I have two now. I've never seen a coupe with that panel. I wonder if there was a trunk trim upgrade, or if it came on coupes with folding rear seats?

Slowly but surely getting the engine bay put back together and I've run into a small snag with the dipstick tube. It's new routing because of the header ends up with the brake booster in the way. Can I carefully bend the tube to follow the routing I want with no issues? I figure if I don't change the length of the tube and the stick doesn't pinch in the tube, I will get the proper readings. Is this right?

Hi Rick you should be able to bend the tube with the right size tube bender (a real one not those part store 1 size does most), however every time you make a bend the tube grows in length. You may find a chart that will give you the "Gain" for that size tube and X* of bend and you may be able to shorten one end accordingly. I would just install it in the pan and check the height from the rail and compare before and after dimensions. But I am willing to bet you have this already final install, No? Harry

I'm still farting around with it. I'll try another route or two. Does it get sealed in place with anything or just set it there as it was? Nothing holding it into the oil pan except gravity and a snug fit.

I've been doing a lot of little repair jobs on the front fascia of my car over the winter. I've got to brag up this one product the has been working really well for me, the ProForm plastic epoxy that Zeke turned me to. I love it. here's some things I've done with it.

At some point in it's past, most of the top mounting tabs on the header panel have been broken off. I've come up with this...cut and bent some sheet metal to size then attached them to the panel with Construction Pl glue. I will drill out the holes needed when I get to mounting it. It's a McGyver-type solution I know, but I would like to hear any thoughts/criticisms from all.

Whatever works for ya I like to say! Good idea to rough up whatever you are gluing to. That epoxy is pretty amazing. Old cars need some glue here and there.

Try putting some pressure on one of those tabs and see if it comes off, then you'll know before installing the piece.

I'm about to go get a y-tube and muffler installed on my car and I've noticed that the clutch cable is pinched between the front header tube and the fender. I'm guessing that the metal casing around the clutch cable is not designed for that kind of heat and will need to be rerouted. Am I right?

Look what I got!! Long story but in the end my daughter's friend(1st yr. engineering student) has access to a laser cutter, my co-worker knows a thing about computer designing, put the two of them together and I got a new two-piece grill designed and cut for $40 worth of ABS sheeting and two cases of beer!

I still have the computer files to sell to anyone who wants them.
