80 Monza Hood Hinges

Postby gkelley47 » Fri Jan 22, 2021 9:51 pm

I have a 80 Monza race car that came with a lift off glass hood with a scoop.

I want a Cowl hood that is hinged so I got the one from Unlimited Products.

So I can't find hinges. Some have said they are welded on to the hood and that's why they are not available.

Ideas on getting hinges?

I have had an H-Body continuously from Feb 1982 and I have only seen one set of screw on hinges ['75 Monza] and that car may have been smacked. So those unicorns may have been a service part, from back when the cars were new enough to have been repaired and not "written off" You will either have to find someone nearby and do a tracing of theirs and cut a set for yourself from some 1/8" aluminum. Sorry that I couldn't be of more help, Harry
Sorry I didn't notice that you are new also, so I will take this opportunity to welcome you aboard, Thanx for coming out!

Yea I went to a junk yard and bought a hood and cut the welds. Hinges work - now need a body man to make the seams nice.

By the way the junk yard has a bunch of H body stuff. Even a V8 Monza.
