On a 1980 sunbird mirror, the two nuts are 11 mm. I'm not sure if that was the same in 1975 though.

I was thinking but not knowing #6-32 or #8-32. I don't have a Vega/Astre to check. Someone will check in, traffic here has been slow for awhile, but those that do know will check in somewhat regularly and we do respond eventually to every post. Hang in There :D Harry

Classic Cruiser I believe the Astre/Vega in '75 had the chrome style but not normally referred to as Bullet Style, An 11mm nut should be M6 screw typically a coarse thread on North American cars so that would be M6-1.0 [1mm pitch of the thread]. Beware though there were some odd screws at the change over point ie; metric threads and inch hex and vice versa, and 11mm =0.433 7/16" = 0.437" so an 11mm and 7/16 wrench will almost always interchange and 7/16" is usually 1/4-20. I don't know if that helps or not. I still think he is looking for the other style mirror. Harry

I actually need the size for the 2 screws that mount the bracket to the car I have the 2 screws for the drivers side but the srcews are way to small for the passenger side door as the hole are bigger,,,is there something on the inside of the door that has fallen off and that;s why the drivers side screws are sloppy in the passenger door.It seems weird why the sides would be different.TY Cprey.

So does the 75 also use two nuts, that mount on the threads from the mirror base that pass thru the plastic trim plate, then the door skin, and then the metal bracket on the interior of the door?

I was trying to figure out where two screws would go, all I have on mine are the nuts that sandwich the whole thing together. I wasn't sure if I had tossed the screws at some point if there were any... so I didn't want to give mis-information.

GM used #8 screws mostly, if holes are stripped you may be able to put speed clips inside the door
