I need a new clutch fork ball stud

Postby Howler73 » Sun May 30, 2021 5:38 pm

Well it figures. I pulled my transmission out (Saginaw 4sp) to figure out the torque arm issue and found that everything under there is covered it oil. So I then pulled the bellhousing off so I could get a better view of where the oil is coming from. I still haven't found that yet but I was going to clean the bellhousing up while I was in there and deciding whether to change the clutch out too. The inside of the bellhousing is really oily with clumps of dirt. Surprisingly the clutch and pressure plate are not covered in oil. I went to take off the clutch fork and found that the allen head of the ball stud was broken and of course the nut is stuck on the stud.

So that was a long story just to ask if anyone knows what new ball stud would fit or if anyone has a new one that would be willing to part with.

Thanks,
Ken

You just missed one on EBay that sold in March.

Not sure if this will fit....

Thanks for the info. The link didn’t work so I’ll keep looking. I searched the GM part number and actually found one on eBay but I think it’s on the South American site though.

That one looks close. It does seem to have a piece that's supposed to thread into the bellhousing then the stud threads into that. I may just buy it to try.

Thanks for the info,

Since most here are on Facebook now, I asked for help for you in finding one, not sure if the one above is the correct fit though....

~ I read your thread and went out behind the garage to see if there was one on the bellhousing that I could salvage for you. The hex head part of the bolt continued to strip out and I was unable to remove the nut from the bolt. It would have to be cut to be removed....sorry, I tried...Good luck with the one from Speedway motors.

Thanks for the try. I've got one coming from Holley. It's from Hays. Hopefully the threads will match.
