Here is that thread about features on a Mirage that I was looking to find before:
http://forums.h-body.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=27679

Seems like the bottom line though is that there is really no tie between VIN and whether it is a "real" Mirage or not. The door sill and the doors with the sticker may not even be on the car anymore. Maybe that "overspray" in the cowl can still be seen?

Anyway, what do you plan on doing with it? That's the more interesting question! Are you planning to do a Mirage restoration or something else?

Good information in that thread, thanks. Unfortunately none of those Mirage things came with the car. No over spray either. Car has a 78 Corvette 350 in it now. I am hoping the Vintage Car Services can find info on my car based on the VIN and be able to get me the data plate codes etc. That should tell if it has the ZX1 code for Mirage. The car is actually rust free and never rotted or repaired. So I have been cleaning it up and plan to make it a nice driver without all the Mirage stuff on it.

You won't find a build sheet. I don't think the Canada plant put ANY build sheets in Mirages the way Lordstown put them in other cars. George Zapora used to be the contact at GM Canada, but it's been 7 years or so but he might still be there.

You should get a paper that looks like this one with options etc. About half way down on the right it says "4,124 with ZX1" which means there were 4,124 Mirages built.
The last 5 numbers in the VIN should be somewhere between 16111 and 62488 give or take.
