Okay, so I bought another Monza Spyder (1980) a couple days ago to use as parts on my 1979 Spyder. I needed some interior parts, and better door windows, sill plates, one door panel, anyway you get the picture. So today I am looking it over and I started to sweat, the seats and door panels looked dark blue to me! I could have sworn that it was black when I picked the car up, and the previous owner said it was black, but in the lighting that I had I wasn't sure. (I need black interior parts for my 1979) I finally got desperate and pulled out a rear seat bottom and took it out into the sunlight. Much to my relief, everything appears to be black! This all leads me to my question. I have the VIN, but I don't have the build sheet for the 1980 (I do have the build sheet for my 79). Is there any way to 'glean' info from the VIN that may direct me to colors or equipment used in this Spyder, or am I just S.O.L? Thanks and sorry if this topic has been covered by someone else, I tried to search it, but didn't find anything.

Need a pic of the body tag ( on the cowl or firewall under the hood ) to decipher the trim and paint. Vin doesn't tell anything.....

26 L and U is the paint code ( Dark Blue) 19V is the interior code (Black Custom Vinyl)
26A is Blue Spyder Stripes. A51 is Bucket Seats

Doug ... much appreciated. I guess i should have mentioned that it is a sunbird formula edition - faded grey with the formula stripping and lower black paint. no a/c either.
