Hello guys, quick question, would anybody know if the rear axles and housing would bolt up to the Vega no welding?

Thanks

All Vega's have 26 spline axles.

Yes, I’m aware of the 26 splines, but I’m wondering if the housing will bolt on without welding

Sorry, not familiar with the Holden. Is it an h-body model in Australia?

Vegas used a 4-link suspension peculiar to itself, not used on any other vehicle. Monzas (and the others) shared the lower control arm mounting of the Vega, but used a torque arm setup that was peculiar to those vehicles. The torque arm axle can be used in the Vega if you incorporate either the factory or custom torque arm. I don't know of any other vehicles that the axle would be a bolt-in. Folks have used S-10 2WD and '66-'67 Nova axles in Vegas, but you need to weld on the control arm brackets.

Thanks guys, I seen a lot of similarities between the Vega and Torana, it’s a Australian GM car so I thought it may work, they consider the Torana to be a historic Muscle Car, it is at least a close cousin to the Vega, it and the Gemini. Well looks like I will have to find some S10 axels and housing, but don’t really care much on the process, but I have a interesting idea since I may be going after the S10/Blazer goodies. I may just go for a AWD V6 4.3 , anybody hear of such a Vega build?

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say the Torana is a Aussie Vega, some mechanical differences but the build has got to be the same, no way GM is stamping new floor pans for the Torana, didn’t even stamp new fender or quarters, but I’m not sure enough to go and buy a Torana rear end though, but would love a quick and easy rear end upgrade that should have been on our Vega to begin with.
