That's a good point about the installed height of the S10 spindle. I hadn't thought of that. Interesting.

I also melted the nylon pad cross-pins in a SCCA 18 lap showroom stock race in 1983.They re-hardened on the cool-down lap,and left me with a scarey few moments at the pit stall! I have just retreived the car from long-term storage, and want to drive it soon. Any source for a new fuel tank or advice on re-hab.of mine (and the in-tank pump-sender)? Thanks.(BTW the 305 V-8 car was just the opposite on the track of what you'd expect:compepative in braking and handling, but too slow a top-end on the straights vs.Porsche ,Rx-7 Mustang turbo SVO etc.)

I did the tank on my Cosworth with the Renu process: http://www.gastankrenu.com/

It's been 3 years so far and no problems.

As for the sender, I haven't seen them around. Some have used one from a Fiero, you may want to search the site on that. If you're feeling adventurous, you could probably clean and/or replace just the potentiometer part of the unit, as it's a standard 90 ohm GM piece.

I noticed that I haven´t posted anything in my thread since Nov 2009...!

That´s the drawback with "everyone" posting on FB instead nowadays..

However, I still own and abuse my Monza at tracks sometimes. But there was... wait for it... NINE YEARS (!) since previous TrackDay

But beginning with autumn-2018, we´ve had an opportunity to go on TrackDay in a new location. It´s actually more of a Go-Cart track, so the straights are short and the corners narrow.

Here´s a movie and some pics from the event

The Cosworth Vega Club has also used larger Go-Kart tracks for track days in the past when they were in the area of our meetings. They are great for a variety of drivers, those new to performance driving on a road course as well as those with more experience. Plenty of excitement as you see how well your street car and yourself will do. Your Monza still looks great.

Looks like your Monza is still in good shape. By the way, nice video!

Two years (!) since I posted something here... time flies

Well, I still take my Monza to trackday events from time to time.

This video is from Sept-2020. Same circuit as the last video.
This time I have better camera (read better mobile phone) and, a very nice app named "RaceChrono" that lets you log/show your laptimes and AND take nice videos with "OSD" - On Screen Display :)

Thank you, I'm still on my Very old BF Goodrich tires...
I'm very tempted to try R-type tires, but I'm afraid for the extra load that will put on car and suspension. Especially when I'm driving the Monza to and from track

HOT ROD MONZA GOES RACING
I run 16 inch TOYO Track tires
will be adding a LSD to the 342 gears next weekend and than a Manual valve reverse shift with Trans Brake from TCI along with a 3000 Stall
As I do Circle Drags at Colorado Nat Speedway a 3/8 mile 16 degree banked asphalt track!

Rollcenter: Fun with another Monza practicing Roadrace/Auto-x. Start a new thread about it under "Road Racing and AutoX" :th:

The other week I (finally) got away again to a roadrace TrackDay. This event is quite popular and draws a mixture of different cars, many of them new (and expensive) sportscars, but also homebuild cars. Nice mix!
I got lots of positive comments, thumbs up - not only for the Monza but also for my driving and the V8 sound
The comment I remember most was: "...your car is absolutely the best looking one here this evening!"

Here´s some pics (and soon also an "in-car" video!) from the event :)
