Sanderson Headers

Postby BigBadWulf » Mon Jan 14, 2019 7:36 am

I am upgrading to aluminum 202 heads from Vortec heads. The aluminum 202 heads will be standard aspiration rather than Vortec. I have a set of Sanderson headers I had been running on the Vortec heads. Will these headers still work with the 202 heads or will I need to purchase new headers?

If I remember correctly, the exhaust ports on a Vortec head are raised 0.100". If you have an old Vortec header gasket, hold it up to the new head, line up the bolt holes and see if any of the port will be blocked, or the gasket may not seal properly.

The heads I will be using are Airflow Research 202 aluminum heads. I will check the header gasket as you recommended. Thanks.

They make 4 different versions: angle plug, D-port,Vortec and stock.
depends on the new type of heads you get.
