Olds 350 rocket vs LT1 350 size difference?

Postby DarthVega » Thu Mar 26, 2020 2:07 am

What’s up guys? Got a question for anyone who can help out, I originally was looking to install a LT1 from a Vette into one of my Vegas, but I have 3 engines all Oldsmobile power plants, I’m thinking of swapping my Olds 350 instead of purchasing and then rebuilding a LT1, but from what I’ve been reading the Olds is a bigger engine and I was wanting to know how much work do you guys think it would take to install the Olds 350? Like moving the firewall and such? I’m trying to keep from cutting up my car, I already know I will have to get a Monza AC as my factory Vega AC in in the way, any thoughts or help is appreciated

Thanks

Someone has done that swap and documented on this forum I believe. Use the search in the upper right corner to find it.

I could be wrong but I think the 350 Olds used the big block Olds engine. High Winding Monza put a Cadillac engine in his Monza and maybe that will give you some answers. Here is his project thread, viewtopic.php?t=21962

Olds 350 is wider for sure, length may be close to the same. Fun fact is olds 350 is actually lighter :)
