Sanderson Headers Dipstick Install

Postby acstestinc » Wed Jan 31, 2024 9:13 pm

I'm working to install Sanderson headers in my V8 Spyder.

With Sanderson headers the stock V8 oil pan dipstick won't work.

Has anyone converted to the block mounted dipstick rather than the Monza oil pan dipstick?

How do you remove the plug in the block for the block mounted dipstick?

Thanks
Paul

Hey Paul is your block even drilled for a block mount dipstick? Some blocks I've dealt with have a small frost plug to block off the unwanted hole, those were the old blocks that were set up for either side chassis dependant. I thought they stopped drilling the unneeded holes around the mid'70's, That was a long time ago so I am foggy on these details. Harry

Yes the block is drill but it is blocked off with a small frost plug.

I solved the issue with 5/16 brake tubing cut to the correct length and bent to clear the headers.

All is good now.

Thanks
