I like yours better, too bad you have to rough them up to look authentic.

Thanks for posting that picture. Yeah, the sharp edges look much cleaner. However, I am going to redesign the bracket and make another set. Figured out a way to get five pinion angle adjustments without having to use rod ends or an eccentric bolt. I’ll finish the drawing tonight and get them cut asap. It’s pretty trick the way they are going to work. Much like the removable suspension insert plates on some of the roundy round suspensions.

Did you use a 69 Camaro shifter body and a super shifter mount ?
Are you saving the Ramrod for another project ?

I have a collection of nos Hurst shifters. I used a standard shifter and made a mount plate using 4130 steel.
The T101 has a tail shaft very similar to a Jerico, so the mount plate only needed to be flat.
The Ramrod has been restored, so I’m going to keep it. There may be another one in my parts horde. Are you looking for one?

The original Thrush mufflers where pretty easy to install, so I decided to do a modern set for leaving on the car most of the time, and will bolt on the originals for car shows, etc.
Going to be curious to do a sound comparison between the two.

Here is the upper portion of the bracket with my adjustment idea. There will be five different adjustments but I’ve only pictured three. The adjustments are made by changing the plugs.
As you can see there is a thinner plate with the 7/16 hole size that the plugs lay against. The oval hole has a clearance of about .005 to hold the plug from moving front to back. The thin plate will weld to the inside of the thicker plate in order to make it one piece.....if these work out and users want any, I’d look into the cost of having these machined as one piece.

That’s cool !
Are the inserts reversible ?
How did you mill the curved slots ?

They are reversible so as to cut down on the number of parts. Just flip one over to go from front to rear.
All the parts are laser cut. If a number of people want them, I’ll lol at getting them machined to eliminate the inner plate.

Been a while. Back on the car again.
Just a couple of small things and it’s ready to fire. I’ve already tested most of the electrical and bumped the engine over.

Finally got the adjustable, no hop brackets finished. Between them and the adjustable, upper control arms…the pinion angle can be adjusted to the smallest degree.
I painted them with a hammered paint and then went over it with satin black. This gave them a really good cast iron look.

Well the front kept settling…and settling. Now it’s to the point that the header collectors are around 2 1/2” from the floor. Even though not period correct, I’m changing the shocks and springs to coil overs. (Got tired of looking for new springs).
The coil over companies recommend having a minimum of 3/16” thick support in the shock mounting area. Being that the control arms are 1/8” thick, I decided to make support plates for the area. This gives me a total of 1/4” thickness. I have pairs for sale in the parts section if anyone is interested.
