is it difficult to find the late model 1995-2005 Chevrolet Blazers? You would gain disc brakes.
If you are going to weld on the brackets anyway, maybe there is an easier-to-find axle that could replace the stock rear. Stock Vega Width is 54.5" if you look at this thread

Toyota rear axle has a 55" axle width according to this forum
