Thank you!

started working on the lowers yesterday. The little air saw worked so great until it broke after a quarter of the circle...so I used the good old drill-a-ton-of-holes-and-chisel-it-out-method.
Ball joint sleeves are AFCO 20044 available at Summit Racing. Couldn't find the UB Machine ones anywhere that are recommended here, but I guess there's no real difference anyway.
I'm thinking about boxing the LCAs, let me know what you think (last picture)

Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know that I’m still here. It was too cold in my shop (-15) and with all the other stuff going on like building a house, I had no time. But I’m back at it now. The 262 is on Ebay now, doesn’t look like anybody would buy it but it’s time is over either way.
I’m thinking about the next steps, probably finish the suspension and start with the interior, paint the engine bay and so on.
If somebody has a locking diff with 3.73 gears for sale let me know.
Can’t post any pictures now, I’m traveling for work and only have my phone but I’ll update soon.

Thanks for reading!

The 262 is out and sold, just waiting to be picked up. Auctioned for the spectacular sum of 1€, but at least I don't have to take care of disposing of it.
A question about the transmission, it's supposed to be a TH250 right? However, it doesn't have that band adjuster stud. But it doesn't look like a 350 either, because it has no electrical connector. What is it?

that looks like a Turbo 350 to me. There aren't any electrical connections on mine, so don't know what you are expecting for connections.

Thank you, that's reassuring. I've heard somewhere that all 75 Monzas had TH250s, with the band adjusters. In my 77 parts car was a tranny I thought was a TH350c, it has a 2-pin connector close to the shift linkage on the driver side. I googled around and read that TH350c has a 4-pin connector.

Now I'm confused. :?

I never had a TH350 before, only 400s.

Did you keep your oil pan, dip stick, pulleys and alternator mounts? That pan is Monza V8 specific, you can use a stock pan but you will need to modify it to clear the steering linkage. aAre you planning on using headers or stock manifolds? As far as I know the pan with the dip stick in the side is need when using the stock cast exhaust manifolds. Same thing with the most of the front accessory brackets and pulleys, unless you are going all custom there are clearance issues to be dealt with as space is at a premium.

The pan and dipstick stayed on the 262, but I have a 305 out of my 77 Monza parts car so for brackets I have everything twice now. The plan is getting Sanderson headers and I will try to build a serpentine drive just for the fun of it. Thanks for mentioning the pan, I didn't know it was Monza only!
Thinking about ditching the AC just to clear up the engine bay, not sure about it yet.

I’ve seen serpentines done on a Monza V8, IMO it’s a nicer, cleaner and better set up, if done right you should have the squeaky belt issue that you can get off v belts sometimes and it can all be done with one belt, n9 need for two or three v belts. It’s not super hard to modify a normal SBC pan, instructions are on V8monza.com, pretty easy as long as you can cut and weld but just easier to use the stock pan unless you need/want more oil capacity.

Good info! I’ll consider modifying one for more capacity.

Driver side floor is gone. Can anyone tell me if there are replacement parts available?

Cut off all the brackets of the Monza rear end and welded them to my Camaro rear end today. After I cut them off, I found out that my Monza rear actually was a Posi :bang: well I guess at least I get the disc brakes now, the better gear ratio and I wanted to widen the rear fenders anyway, so
If anybody needs a Posi carrier, hit me up. Preferrably in Europe, shipping might be expensive overseas but I could go weigh the parts and check the cost if somebody's actually interested.

Slow progress is better than no progress...my build has somewhat stalled...solely due to other pressing issues but I did get all the spark plug brackets you sent installed. Hope to get back at it next week. Did you order a D/S floor pan or are you planning to fabricate your own?
