Any suggestions??

Hello to you all out there. My name is Jody
Waring, I am from Saint John, New Brunswick Canada. I
presently am the owner of two chevy vegas, one a 75 and the
other is a 76. I am looking for any info from anyone
who has took upon themselves the task of
strengthening the chassis of their vega. I would love to hear
from anyone that did their own work, built their own
parts etc... in respects to subframe connectors, and
other chassis supports, that sort of thing. I have
already completed some of the buildup, but if you might
have some suggestions to what might help me to get the
power where it should be, I'd more than appreciate it.
Thanx

I have just installed a set of subframe
connectors in my Monza. Try Chris Alstons chassisworks as
these are the ones I am using. They are weld in and you
will have to notch out the rear floor area where the
back seat passengers footwells are. You will also need
to notch out the pad near the front of the car
identified by a 3 in. long by 3/4 wide slot. The rear part
of the connector goes against the rear lower control
arm brace (no cutting required here). The legs on
these connectors go against the inside of the rocker
panel and should be level with the bottom of the car.
Once you have it fitted up against everything it's
just a matter of welding everything up.

To be honest I don't know what they go for new. I
picked them up a few years ago at a swap meet (still
brand new) for $40. I do know that you can still get
them from Chris Alston's Chassisworks. There is a
website that might help, it's www.cachassisworks.com.
