I ordered Bolt in 9" for my early Vega from Autoweld Chassis.
Ordered in beginning of November. They still havnt started on it. :(

I honestly didn't even ask because I wasn't interested in the torq arm set up. He told me that they aren't really offering it up as retail deal just yet. Kinda waiting on some feedback from badsunbird I think.
He talked like they may do the 4 link set up later.
we'll see.

no biggie.
They probably just want to see how well it holds up after some miles, then get some feedback. Before they commit to putting their name on it.
I don't have a clue what you paid for the set up, but I bet they feel like they lost their ass on it and may not want to fool with it.
Some companies are all about the dollar sign, and some not so much. We will see where these guys come in at...eh.

Like I said earlier. Been waiting 11wks for mine and they already have all the R&D done, with a jig sitting there and havnt taken the time to knock my job out because they have a shop full of big money jobs sitting there

Funny Thing.
I got a call from Autoweld Chassis today.
Telling me they are close to getting to my housing and are going to try to make upper brackets a little taller with a couple sets of holes to help tune out the launch/wheel hop problem these cars experience.
This would be awesome. I asked originally and they acted like they didn't want to fool with it.
Its kinda like they heard I was aggravated with the long delay on this.????
I'm confident it will be nice, just hard to wait this long on stuff.

I sent him my 71 stock rear, to make me a bolt in 9 inch for my car.
He told me a couple of weeks, that was 2 months ago. Called a couple of times and left messages, no one called me back.
So I bought a back half from Checkered racing, maybe it wasn't meant to be.
Glad I went with the back half.

Tom
The main reason I went with Autoweld is that, They were the only ones I could find that had a jig already set up to do these.
I didn't want to cut my stock rear end up just for brackets
I don't know why you would have had to send them your rear end?
I could have done all this, but count your time and aggravation , this is prob the best money I spent so far.

I was just happy to see someone actually building a bolt in 9 inch for an early Vega.
It took me 4 years to find a Don Hardy Vega 12 bolt for sale.

I had them build a 4-link style 9” in 2018 or so. I also sent them my stock housing for reference, and they built everything based on that. Sounds like they’ve done a few of these now and should still have the jig, but who knows? Fitment was perfect. Probably the least hassle of anything I’ve installed on this car. I’ve had no issues with the rearend itself running ~500hp with sticky tires on the track and the street. It likes to spray a little diff fluid out the vent, but I think that’s an issue with 9” rearends in general.

I don’t remember how long the wait was, but I don’t remember it being unreasonable. I was in the process of building the rest of the car and wasn’t in a huge hurry. Probably depends on what their workload is at a given time. They’re getting to be pretty well known, so I’m sure they get slammed during the “fix the racecar” season.

If I was going to order another one, I would ask them to build the upper mounts higher similar to the motion “no-hop” conversion. This allows for the use of straight control arms, and eliminates wheel hop. I welded in some extension brackets later after I broke a set of the bent control arms. It launches way better now.
