Intermittent windshield wipers

Postby erik monza » Tue Sep 04, 2012 5:25 am

I have bought a used Intermittent windshield wiper switch from an other Monza.- ( I think) it could be a starfire?, but is was a H body at a wrecking yard and I removed it myself.

How do I wire this into my 1976 Monza, as mine only have the standard switch, do I need the wiper motor as well

Thanks from Erik

There is also a controller unit for the pulse w/s wiper system. You need to have that for it to work.

The controller unit has a male/ female harness that hooks into the old plug and new switch. I've got a couple around here somewhere...

Thanks Spencer

Can we work some thing out, can I buy one from you ??

Or can I find it on eBay, as a controller unit. does it have a spare parts no.

Where can I find a wirering diagram, showing this system.

The Sosdala wrecking yard in Sweden, where I got it from, just crush all the H body wrecks they had this spring, so I have been in mourning ever since, and cannot go back to get the part.

All wrecking yards should have a membership file, so 2 weeks before you crush a car, you send out message to your customers that have that kind of car, so they have 2 weeks notice to get what they need.

Thanks from Erik

The Chev truck switch is unlikely to be compatible; GM has dozens of different switches.
My apologies for not responding to your request for a control box; I'm presently on the injured list and haven't seen the inside of my garage for almost 3 weeks. I'm having some serious problems with sciatica(pinched nerves in my hips) and am basically stuck in the house other than going to medical appointments. I'll have a look for a spare delay box when I'm back to normal.

Thanks guys

Thanks Spencer, hope you are doing better and have a change to look for the controler, I am about to put the car away for winter so I have time.

Please monzaaddict, can you tell me the part number on that controller.

( sorry to hear you need the switch, I knew where to find 2 more, but the wrecking yard in Sweden just crushed 8 - 10 H cars, I could not sleep for a week almost, how could they do a thing like that )

Please cjbiagi can you tell me the part number on that controller.

I asked you both, as I do not know if the controllers are all the same.

Thanks from Erik

When I sourced the controler from the dealer years ago the relay was a separate piece and was required for all functions not just intermitent hope this helps Harry

The relay is a separate piece from the switch and mounts on top of the ash tray mount with a long harness w/ two connectors, harness goes over the cluster down to the switch.
The original harness plugs into the relay/module connector the second connector plugs into the switch and there is a long red wire that goes to the fuse panel.
