Great Show. Lot of crazy sick cars there.
Had an awesome time and was quite the experience (hell of a commitment)...
First show I've put in of this caliber.
Car drew a lot of attention (as the H Bodies typically do). Almost everyone you talk to had a 'Vega Story', love hearing those.
Added the below photo album link of the car from the show. Also a quick video walk around (sorry, not HD).

Come on Summer!!!

Nice detail work Mike, especially on the undercarriage and engine compartment. Most cars that I judge can almost always benefit from more detailing on the undercarriage and that is usually what will separtate one car from another. It's very difficult work to do and hard to maintain but it makes all the difference in a judged show.

Thanks Clyde, coming from you, that's quite a compliment! (Mr. Detail yourself) :th:
I got a chance to talk to the judge that did my car/class and he said interior was my worst attribute.
He said if that was a little better I would have won the class vs runner up.
(I personally would have guessed engine or undercarriage was my worst, but that's why he's the judge and I'm the weekend warrior car building hobbyist) :D
I really take pride in keeping the interior as original as possible, but clean.
But apparently they will ding for that, as no matter how good it is, a guy with brand new custom interior will win out.

Oh well, I have no plans to go with all new custom interior. I prefer the nostalgia of the original (even if it's not perfect).

Your interior looks pretty nice, little things like the shoulder strap on the drivers side (has an exposed screw holding it on) will draw attention. I almost always get people with dirty rubber pedal pads and accellerator pedals and dirty air vents on the kick panels or AC outlets. Stock or custom really shouldn't matter, it's condition and cleanliness that count. However, the WORLD OF WHEELS show does lean toward modified cars much more heavily than stock so that could enter into the equation. Overall you did an outstanding job of representing the H body crowd. We need more cars of that caliber. :th:

Hey Nick/Steve,
Thanks for the kind words. I'm sure your cars are/will turn out quite nice indeed.
I say hang in there, there's some 'headlights' at the end of the tunnel. :D
Redoing one of these cars is not easy (as all of us know) with good used parts so hard to come by, lack of new parts, not to mention the other host of challenges, but in the end it'll all pay off I'm sure.

Good luck with your projects and if there's anything I can do to help, let me know.

Mike
