Which clutch fork do i need

Postby 1ton454 » Sun Jun 13, 2021 12:31 pm

I am putting a saginaw 4 speed in my 72 vega gt. I found a bell housing which i think is for a early nova part # 360162 that according to bob gumm is about same as monza bell housing. I bought it at swap meet but i need a clutch fork. My question is what clutch fork do i need ? Will vega clutch fork work ? Any help please will be appreciated. Thanks

Do you have a photo of the bellhousing? The early ("box") Nova used a "push" type of clutch fork (the pivot between the clutch linkage and the throwout bearing). The Vega uses a cable linkage, so it needs a "pull" type of fork, with the pivot on the other side of the throwout bearing from the linkage. Unless you are engineering some kind of rod linkage instead of a cable.
