DOUG NASH "Crash Box"

Postby PumpGas » Tue Feb 12, 2019 5:55 pm

Hello to all members, New member here I have two H Body Cars. 75 Monza street Strip car and I just purchased a 72 Vega Strip car. I'm looking at installing a Doug Nash Crash Box 4+1 into the car.

Wondering if any other members have completed an installation?

Thanks in Advance/Dennis

Whoa! Another Canuck! :th:
Welcome aboard.
Providing the Nash has the GM input shaft and bell housing mounting holes, it shouldn't be much harder to install than a Muncie. A custom trans cross member may be needed at most.
What do you plan to use for a shifter ?

Ken
My other car is a Nova.

It has a mopar input shaft, it will bolt up G.M. OK, I'm worried about shifter location. I have the Inline shifter and linkage and clutch disk. I'm hunting for clutch peddle and linkage.

don't know if you would be interested but I have a doug nash complete gear set for a Muncie m-22 with a 1.88 first gear in good used condition. originally bought for my IMSA monza but determined because of my intended occasional street use would be to tough to drive without incureing to many exhibition driving tickets. it should be great for a early years drag car though. also price is very negotiable.. will send pics if interested.

Thanks mldeolde for the heads-up. My project took a turn. Not using the Nash now. Did a motor setback eight inches with two speed glide. Hoping for some test runs soon.. I have a buyer for the Nash, I will let him know parts are available to him..
