Postby whitechocolate » Mon May 25, 2020 11:52 pm

picked up a housing for cheap with axles for 100, its at 51" 3/4, will I be able to make this work with stock suspension and lca probably moving them inward, am I going to have to mini tub or could I get away with offset wheels, probably a 10" tire,

Maybe with shallow drums and reverse offset wheels.
There are several widths of Ford drums and the wider ones go inward so you would need the shallowest ones.
A 235/60-15 on a 7" rim fits nicely with the right backspace, what kind of wheels are you thinking of using ?

First search for the item your looking for, pick one from the list from the search. When it's open, copy the heading for the thread then paste it in the reply.

The lowwer control arm brackets should clear the housing ends.
So depending on the brakes you use it could work without mini tubbung.
You need to determine which pattern housing ends it has then you can figure out what options there are for the brakes.

What car is it going in, 4 link Vega or a torque arm car ?

Its small bearing 28 spline, so I'm thinking 95 ton01 explorer disk will bolt up right,

Disc brakes may hang in too far for that narrow of a rear end, they may hit the inner wheel well.
Also check the axle backspace or standoff, Ford made several different versions.
Some early small bearing Ford brakes had 1.75" shoes, they woud give you the most room.
Pre 95 Explorer drums may work, not sure what width those are.
What year car are you wanting to use it in ?
