My rallycross co-driver is Silversport Transmissions (SST) lead engineer.
https://shiftsst.com/ He's been working on the hydraulics for the early 4.6 Mustangs.
He says the TKX will fit much better than the TKO.
They will have "perfect fit" kits .... but quite pricey.
I've been playing with some trans ratios for the '81 Turbo T/A (and rear ratios). Getting a feel for max speeds per gear (shifting at 4,000 rpm), rpm drop per gear and cruising rpm at 70 mph.
I've also plugged these ratios into a video game, Xbox Forza Motorsport 7 .... using a similarly powered T/A (200 HP/330 TQ). It appears to be spot on with the calculators on SST website.
They have a great calculator for this stuff.
https://shiftsst.com/speed-analyzerI attached a pic showing info for a TH350, 200R4, T5 (V8), and a stock F-body T-56 .... trans I had on hand at the time.
-- All shift points are at 4k rpm (limited for Pontiac 301)
-- Gear ratios across the top.
-- Rear gear ratio on left.
-- Max speed for each gear (4k rpm) underneath ratio.
-- 70 mph cruising rpm on far right.
I may have to plug some of the TKX ratios in ......
